The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Director, Scientific Communications to lead the scientific communications strategy for a late‑stage biotech company advancing lanifibranor, an investigational MASH/NASH drug, toward commercialization. This role will be responsible for shaping the company’s scientific narrative, overseeing publications and congress communications, and ensuring high‑quality, compliant dissemination of clinical and scientific data.
This is a highly visible leadership role that will partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs as the organization prepares for launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global scientific communications and publications strategy aligned with lanifibranor’s development and launch timelines.
- Own the integrated publication plan, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, and data disclosures.
- Oversee scientific content development for major medical congresses, including abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and symposia.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant communication of clinical data following ICMJE, GPP, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Clinical, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Field Medical, and Commercial teams.
- Manage and develop a high‑performing scientific communications team and external vendors (e.g., agencies, medical writers).
- Establish processes, governance, and best practices to support operational excellence and inspection readiness.
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree required (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- 10+ years of experience in Scientific Communications, Publications, or Medical Affairs within biotech or pharmaceutical companies.
- Proven experience leading scientific publications and congress strategy for late‑stage (Phase 3) programs.
- Prior vendor management experience.
- Strong scientific acumen, communication skills, and ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a pre‑commercial or high‑growth biotech environment.
- Launch experience with a novel or specialty therapy.
- Background in MASH/NASH or other highly scientific therapeutic areas.
- Global scientific communications leadership experience.
