This individual will partner closely with executive business leaders to establish and execute technology strategies that support the company’s transition from late-stage development through NDA submission, regulatory approval, commercial launch, and future growth.

A key responsibility will be providing IT leadership for NDA and commercial launch readiness. The Senior Director will work across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical, Quality, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and IT to identify technology dependencies, manage risks, and ensure that launch-critical capabilities are implemented, validated where required, integrated, and operationally ready. The role will continue to provide strategic technology leadership following launch as the organization scales its commercial and medical capabilities.

As a member of the IT leadership team, the Senior Director will contribute to enterprise technology strategy, organizational planning, resource allocation, and the continued development of IT leadership capabilities. This individual will also play an important role in developing talent, mentoring emerging leaders, and building the organizational depth required to support the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business strategy and product lifecycle priorities into a clear technology vision, multi-year roadmap, investment strategy, and execution plan.
  • Establish trusted relationships with senior leaders across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and related functions and will serve as the primary IT partner for understanding business priorities and translating them into technology solutions.
  • In partnership with business leaders, identify opportunities where technology, data, analytics, automation, and digital capabilities can improve launch readiness, operational effectiveness, customer engagement, and decision-making.
  • Establish appropriate governance, identify cross-functional dependencies, proactively manage risks, and ensure that technology issues that could affect regulatory or launch timelines are visible and appropriately escalated.
  • Ensure that IT is prepared to support the company’s product lifecycle milestones, particularly the transition from late-stage development through NDA submission, regulatory review, approval, and commercial launch.
  • Establish the technology roadmap and readiness requirements associated with these milestones in partnership with key stakeholders. This includes ensuring that critical applications, data, reporting, integrations, content capabilities, analytics, vendor services, and business processes are ready to support the organization at launch.
  • Promote simplification and standardization where appropriate, while ensuring that technology investments remain flexible enough to support changing business requirements and the company’s evolving commercial strategy.
  • Partner with business and Data & Analytics leaders to ensure that Commercial and Medical Affairs have access to trusted, governed, and actionable information.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, GenAI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve productivity, customer engagement, launch execution, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with technology vendors, implementation partners, consultants, and managed-service providers supporting Commercial and Medical Affairs.
  • Oversee vendor selection, contracting, renewals, performance management, and risk mitigation in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Commercial and Medical Affairs technology operates in accordance with applicable GxP requirements, privacy regulations, cybersecurity standards, data governance policies, and company controls.
  • Contribute to the development of the broader IT strategy, operating model, resource planning, and enterprise prioritization.
  • Develop and mentor IT professionals and emerging leaders, strengthen organizational capabilities, and contribute to succession planning for critical technology roles.
